Fuel Operator

We are looking for a reliable, vigilant, and customer-oriented Fuel Operator (Petrol Pump Attendant) to join our service team in Porbandar, the serene “White City” and a vital transit point for Gujarat’s coastal trade and tourism. As a key representative of our station, you will provide essential fueling services to the diverse range of vehicles that power our city—from local fishing fleet transport and tourist SUVs to the commercial trucks navigating the coastal highway.

Key Responsibilities

• Fuel Dispensing: Accurately operate fuel dispensers to refuel vehicles with petrol, diesel, or CNG, ensuring precise quantity and quality as per customer requests.
• Transaction Management: Efficiently handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and digital UPI transactions, maintaining an accurate record of sales and providing receipts.
• Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to fire safety protocols, including “No Smoking” and “Mobile Off” rules. Maintain a “Zero Spill” environment and know how to operate fire extinguishers in emergencies.
• Vehicle Care Services: Offer basic value-added services such as checking engine oil levels, monitoring tire air pressure, and cleaning windshields to enhance the customer experience.
• Stock Monitoring: Assist in monitoring fuel levels in underground tanks and coordinate during the offloading of fuel tankers to prevent contamination or shortages.
• Customer Interaction: Greet every customer with a welcoming and polite attitude, communicating effectively in Gujarati or Hindi to assist with queries about fuel prices and loyalty programs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Minimum 8th or 10th pass; basic literacy is required to read meters and manage billing.
• Numeracy: Strong basic math skills for quick and accurate calculation of fuel costs and returning change.
• Linguistic Proficiency: Fluency in Gujarati and Hindi is essential for interacting with the local community and long-distance drivers.
• Traits: High level of integrity, physical stamina to stand for long shifts, and a sharp, alert mind to manage multiple vehicles during peak hours.

Experience

• 0–3 years preferred; prior experience at a petrol pump or in a retail/service role is an advantage.
• Freshers who are hardworking and willing to undergo on-the-job training in safety and pump operations are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with modern POS (Point of Sale) machines and digital payment apps is a plus.
