Mechanic

We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and efficient Mechanic to join our service team in Porbandar, a historic port city and a key link in the Saurashtra coastal transport corridor. The ideal candidate should have strong diagnostic skills and experience handling private cars, tourist vehicles (SUVs), and light commercial vehicles that travel the scenic coastal highways and urban routes of Gujarat.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosis & Repair: Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in various vehicle makes and models, with a focus on durability for coastal driving conditions.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform regular servicing, oil changes, and preventive maintenance to ensure safety on popular routes like Porbandar–Rajkot or Porbandar–Dwarka.
• Parts Management: Identify and replace faulty parts accurately, ensuring the use of genuine spares to maintain vehicle longevity and performance.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed service and repair records for individual clients and local fleet operators.
• Workshop Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workshop environment, adhering to all safety and environmental standards.
• Customer Interaction: Explain repair requirements and cost estimates clearly to customers (Gujarati or Hindi preferred to build local trust).

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred.
• Vehicle Knowledge: Strong familiarity with brands popular in Western India (e.g., Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata, and Toyota).
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to use modern diagnostic scanners, hydraulic lifts, and specialized mechanical tools.
• Traits: Strong problem-solving skills, physical stamina, and a reputation for honesty and reliability.

Experience

• 2–5 years preferred in multi-brand service centers, authorized dealerships, or established local garages.
• Experience with BS-VI engines, common rail fuel injection (CRDi) systems, and modern vehicle electronics is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with maintaining vehicles in coastal areas (managing rust and salt-air impact) is highly valued.
