The Porbandar Triathlon and Swimathon 2026, organized by the Shree Ram Sea Swimming Club (SRSSC), recently concluded its highly anticipated 2026 edition. Known as India’s premier coastal endurance event, it transformed the Chowpatty beachfront into a hub of high-octane athletic energy.

Event Highlights (January 2026)

The event took place during the first week of January, attracting over 1,500 participants from across the country, ranging from young children to seasoned para-athletes.

  • Porbandar Triathlon (Jan 3): Athletes pushed their limits in three categories:
    • Sprint: 750m Swim / 20km Cycle / 5km Run.
    • Standard (Olympic): 1500m Swim / 40km Cycle / 10km Run.
    • Triathlon 113 (Half-Iron): A grueling 1.9km Swim / 90km Cycle / 21km Run.
  • Porbandar Swimathon (Jan 3-4): One of India’s largest open-sea swimming competitions, featuring distances of 1km, 2km, 5km, 10km, and 15km.
  • Inclusion: The event featured dedicated categories for Para-swimmers, who showcased extraordinary resilience in the 1km and 5km open-sea challenges.
